How times are worked out
Times are shown in Eastern Time, with daylight saving. Tibo often writes in Pacific Time, so we convert.
- A written time with a zone, such as “3pm PT”, is used as written. A weekday or “tomorrow” beside it sets the day; with none, it is the next time that clock reads that.
- “In about 2 hours” counts from the moment he posted. “Tomorrow morning PT” is read as 9:00 AM Pacific; afternoon is 2:00 PM, evening 6:00 PM, tonight 8:00 PM. These two are marked “about”.
- A time with no zone, or words like “soon”, give no time. The announcement then counts as waiting for 12 hours, then as should be in effect.
- A reset is confirmed when Tibo says it has happened. Its day is the announced day, or the day he confirmed it when he gave no time or it came earlier.
- An announced reset whose time has passed, with no confirmation seen, is marked should be in effect. Nothing here predicts a reset nobody has announced.
Sources and rules
- Posts by Tibo (Thibault Sottiaux, @thsottiaux), who runs Codex at OpenAI, including his threads and the posts he quotes. Each event links to the original.
- A reset is a reset of everyone’s usage limits. A reset card is a banked reset that people can spend when they choose.
- Posts are read automatically. A model decides whether a post is about limits and which event it is; the times come from the fixed rules on the left. Automatic reading can be wrong, so check the linked post before you rely on a time.
- Only what Tibo announces or confirms is listed. Replies, hints and wishes are not.
