#Google

AIIn a wide-ranging interview at The Information AI Summit, Koray Kavukcuoglu said Gemini 4 is coming soon and that Google is "certainly at the frontier." He argued against slowing development, saying safety is built in lockstep with progress, and he pointed to Google's continued hardware advantage with TPUs.

AIGemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Flash-Lite TTS are now available in the Gemini API and AI Studio, with a new feature to replicate your own voice or create one from a sentence. The guide shows recording two clips, one of 15-20 seconds of natural speech and one reading a required consent sentence, then creating a reusable voice ID. It also explains that input text is now spoken word for word, so delivery belongs in speech_metadata.style and short sounds inline.

AIGoogle Developers reproduced Ai2's Olmo 3 7B from scratch in MaxText on Google Cloud TPUs, covering both the stage-1 pre-training run and the stage-2 mid-training anneal. The match was checked on held-out C4 loss, an 8-task accuracy suite, multi-domain perplexity, and token-level KL, not just the training loss curve. The post also describes a data-loader bug that made training loss look better than the reference while held-out metrics did not move.

Why it matters: The post documents how a faithful reproduction was verified on held-out metrics, including a data bug that training loss alone would have hidden.

AIGoogle Cloud API Gateway now acts as a remote MCP server in Public Preview, making REST operations in an annotated OpenAPI 3.0.x or 3.1.x spec available as agent-ready MCP tools. Existing JWT or API-key authentication, quotas, and logging apply to MCP calls, so teams do not need a separate MCP server. Current limits include no support for OpenAPI 2.0, a maximum of 1,000 tools per gateway, and no MCP and model routing in the same API config.

Why it matters: The post shows how an existing OpenAPI spec becomes agent-callable MCP tools, with the same auth and quota policies applied, which helps teams avoid building a separate MCP server.

AIGoogle's new Gemini 3.8 TTS models generate conversations between multiple voices, with over 2,000 preset voices available and voice cloning supported. Simon Willison says the models are super-cheap and built a small UI to try them, with Claude writing a script in which two pelicans debate moving to Pacifica Pier.

AIGoogle announces support for local AI models in the Antigravity SDK, per a linked developer blog post. The post itself offers no further details, so specific features, supported models, or limits cannot be confirmed from this source.

AIGoogle is shipping Google Beam units to customers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, and Japan, supported by 18 channel partners, with HP Dimension with Google Beam as the flagship hardware. Starting in October, users can book Beam at select Industrious locations in Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, and Palo Alto, and an internal eight-week Google study reported 50% more connection and 21% fewer follow-up meetings.

AIGoogle's Gemini app now connects with 13 new apps, including Adobe, Squarespace, and Peloton. Josh Woodward asks users which favorite apps they want added next.

AIGoogle introduces Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS for creative voice design and Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS for high-volume, cost-efficient speech generation. Flash TTS supports voice creation from natural language prompts across more than 100 languages and dialects, and both models are rolling out today in the Gemini API and Google AI Studio, with enterprise access coming soon via Gemini Enterprise.

AIGoogle DeepMind describes a persistent memory layer for its Private AI Compute platform that stores user context encrypted in the cloud. The encryption keys are held on the user's devices, and data is decrypted only inside hardware-isolated secure enclaves before being re-encrypted. The company says it is publishing a tamper-proof public record of its server software and an independent audit.

Why it matters: The post explains how persistent cloud memory can keep personal AI context encrypted under keys held on the user's device, a concrete privacy design.

AIGoogle is rolling out a new wave of Connected Apps to Gemini, letting users link tools such as Airtable, Linear, monday.com, Adobe, Webflow, Peloton and SeatGeek directly in the chat. The apps span productivity, creativity and lifestyle categories, and can be connected in Gemini settings or invoked by typing @ mention in a chat.

AIGoogle Labs released six new Google Flow Tools built by creatives across architecture, sound design, and digital content, including Mondo Sónico, CaptionCast, ThumbnailForge, Surface, CollageMotion Pro, and SwissFlow Studio. Each tool targets a specific workflow, such as generating synchronized audio stems, transcribing and styling captions, or producing animated collages from text prompts. Users can try the tools, duplicate and remix them, or build their own by describing a task in Google Flow.

AIGoogle has released Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS, a text-to-speech model that costs less than its previous 3.1 Flash TTS model. The new model is accompanied by a new experience in Google AI Studio.

AIGoogle introduced Gemini 3.8 Flash and Flash-Lite TTS, new state-of-the-art text-to-speech models. They add a new voice design experience, over 2,000 production-ready voices, voice replication, and support for 100 languages. The models rank first on Hume AI's voice benchmarks, and voice remixing is coming soon.

AIGoogle has launched Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech models, with a blog post, a prompting guide for speech generation, and a migration guide for users moving from Gemini 3.1. The post itself provides few technical details, so specifics such as benchmarks or pricing are not stated here.

AIGoogle announced two new Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech models, positioned as its most expressive yet. Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS targets creative work, letting developers use natural language to define vocal personas, cues, pacing, and dialects, while Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS is built for high-volume pipelines such as bulk audiobook production and audio dubbing. Both are available now through the Gemini API in Google AI Studio.

AIGoogle is rolling out two Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech models starting today: Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS. Developers can access both in Google AI Studio and the Gemini API, while consumers get Flash TTS in NotebookLM and Flash-Lite TTS in Google Vids. Both models are coming soon to Gemini Enterprise.

AIGoogle DeepMind says developers can fine-tune AI-generated audio line by line, adjusting pacing, emotion, and cues such as laughs or pauses. All generated audio is watermarked with SynthID so it can be reliably identified as AI-generated, and developers can start building with the Gemini API via Google AI Studio.

AIGoogle DeepMind introduced Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS, text-to-speech models offering custom voice design, line-by-line performance control, and multilingual support across more than 100 languages. Flash TTS is rolling out to developers in the Gemini API and Google AI Studio and to everyone in Gemini Notebook, while Flash-Lite TTS is available to developers and in Google Vids. Voice replication requires consent verification, and generated audio carries SynthID watermarking.

Why it matters: The source details the voice design, performance direction, and consent safeguards, showing how the model covers creative and high-volume use cases with access across several Google products.

AIGoogle DeepMind's latest Gemini Audio models let developers design new vocal personas from natural language prompts, directing pacing, back channeling, and dialect shifts line by line. Developers can also recreate consistent adult voice profiles from a 30-second audio sample, with built-in consent verification, SynthID watermarking, and C2PA credentials.

AIGoogle announced that the Antigravity SDK supports local agent workflows, with initial support for Gemma 4 26B A4B through Google AI Edge's LiteRT. The post includes Python setup steps and says a recommended machine has more than 24GB VRAM or unified memory. It also describes a hybrid pattern in which a cloud Gemini 3.8 Flash planner hands work to local Gemma 4 26B models, with 97.2% of tokens in one recorded run staying local.

Why it matters: The source shows how to run an agent with a local Gemma 4 26B model using LiteRT, plus a hybrid cloud-planner pattern that keeps most tokens on-device.

AIGoogle Gemma credits @mmastrac and @dylayed for work on DiffusionGemma-Jev (djev), a Jev API-compatible endpoint. Per @dylayed, djev can be deployed to Google Cloud Run with a single gcloud command, at roughly $3/hr while active and $0 when idle.

AIGoogle Flow now has more than 25 million people using it every month to create ideas, stories, and projects. Google is continuing to offer 50 additional daily credits to all users.

AIGoogle made the Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS models generally available, along with the Gemini API Voices endpoint. Flash TTS is positioned for studio-grade voice fidelity and long-form multi-turn stability, while Flash-Lite TTS targets high-throughput, real-time voice agents and replaces gemini-3.1-flash-tts-preview. The update adds voice design, voice replication with consent verification, and access to 150+ prebuilt and custom voices.

AIGoogle AI subscribers now get premium Colab benefits, including priority access to faster accelerators and more powerful machines. Google AI Ultra subscribers also get uninterrupted background execution and Premium GPU access for long training runs. The benefits roll out over the next few weeks in Colab-supported countries, and existing Colab subscriptions are unchanged.
