Fireworks launches FireRouter, routing tasks between open models and Claude Opus

Fireworks introduced FireRouter with Opus, its first router model, which sends routine tasks to top open models and reserves Claude Opus for the rest. The company says it retains 98.1% of Opus accuracy while cutting cost per coding session by 57%, using cache and task-aware routing.
