AIRoon, posting as @tszzl, says the "capital realism" and "successionism" views are identical and points to Elon Musk as drifting toward them over the decades. He hopes Musk, one of the few people able to direct capital toward human-centered ends, will try to steer it that way.

AIGartner's latest forecast projects AI spending rising 49.7 percent to $2.67 trillion in 2026 and 36 percent to $3.64 trillion in 2027, following a 2.6X jump to $1.79 trillion in 2025. Traditional IT spending is in recession, shrinking 12.5 percent in 2025 and projected to fall further, which the article says means AI spending will exceed traditional IT spending in 2027.

AIOpenAI says it may give people a choice about text watermarking, which embeds an invisible statistical signal during generation to help show whether text was likely produced by an OpenAI model. The watermark does not reveal the text's author, owner, or any person, account, conversation, or prompt. In OpenAI's testing, watermarking did not affect model capability, speed, or response quality.

AIAdo Kukic, an Anthropic-affiliated account, posted an enthusiastic one-line message saying Go plus Opus 5.5 means "shipping." The post gives no details on features, benchmarks, or specific use cases.

AIGoogle Antigravity shared a demo of a mini self-generating forest made entirely of colorful pencil strokes, built with Gemini 3.8 from a sketch reference and a prompt. The quoted post says the result came from turning an art sketch into an exploratory mini game.

AIJosh A. Goldstein of CSET has commented in several media outlets on AI-enabled influence and spam, including Tech Policy Press, MIT Technology Review, NPR, and the Financial Times. His commentary covers Meta's quarterly threat report on five fake-account networks linked to Moldova, Iran, Lebanon, and India, and OpenAI's first report on misuse of its generative AI. He also discussed a surge in AI-generated spam on Facebook and other platforms.

AIJack Clark calls it a great writing prompt: what would stealing mean in a post-singularity future, including who the thieves are, what security systems exist, and how police work. The idea came from a Chatham House session, and Clark says he cannot name the speaker under the rules.

AIAnthropic co-founder Jack Clark highlighted a takeaway from The Curve: even after the singularity, one-of-a-kind goods like the Mona Lisa could still be stolen, and such unique items may keep or grow in value as everything else changes.

AIElad Gil shares a prediction about superintelligence (SI), linking to a YouTube video timestamped at 10 seconds. The post gives no further details on timing, method, or evidence.

AIa16z's seventh Top 100 Consumer AI Apps report adds a spending ranking based on YipitData card panels, showing usage is wide but shallow. Only 4.5% of U.S. consumers had an active paid personal subscription to ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude as of August, while the top 1% of payers accounted for 19.5% of observed consumer AI spend. The report also notes ChatGPT still leads, Claude has moved into the third position, and personal agents are emerging as a possible new monetization path.

AIBaidu's latest AI Pulse edition argues that agent experiences depend on a full underlying AI stack, not just the agent itself. It examines what productivity, commerce, and industrial agents need from that stack and how those needs shape it, alongside updates on the AI, Evolving to Miaoda upgrades and the Kooko AI workspace.

AIIn Australia, computing academic Greg Baker used AI to challenge his employer's refusal to make his casual job permanent, and the Fair Work Commission ruled in his favor. In England and Wales, 60% of defendants in defended county court claims this year had no lawyer, and in the US more than nine in ten consumers sued for debt face cases without one. Around 0.6% of all Claude use in May was for lawyers' tasks, with four-fifths of those queries from people asking about their rights or what the law means.

AIEnterprises are shifting from backward-looking analytics to forward-looking predictive systems that can act on their own conclusions, according to Everest Group partner Vishal Gupta. The source credits deep learning and generative AI with enabling real-time model training and the use of unstructured data alongside numerical records. Gupta says the word "analytics" is giving way to AI.

AIMathematicians at the Heidelberg Laureate Forum discussed AI companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, solving longstanding math problems. OpenAI announced it had solved the Navier-Stokes existence and smoothness problem, a claim the article says is still awaiting verification, and Harris criticized the company's conduct toward a mathematician. Researchers also warn that AI solutions may lack understandable methods and are changing how academics work.

AIAlberto argues that the AI industry's assumption of indefinite exponential growth, including Anthropic's trajectory, runs against physical constraints because every exponential eventually becomes a sigmoid. He says stacking S-curves can delay this plateau for a long time but cannot avoid it. The piece is an opinion essay; it does not report specific Anthropic figures.

AISmartphone prices have risen about 15% globally this year, and newly launched models cost roughly 25% more than last year, as a memory chip shortage driven by AI data center demand raises manufacturing costs. Shipments of sub-$100 smartphones fell almost 60% year over year in the second quarter of 2026, according to IDC, and Chinese makers are cutting entry-level projects in favor of pricier devices. GSMA warns the trend could widen the digital divide.

AISurveys show more adults expect AI to harm them personally and society than expect benefits, and 71% of US adults oppose a local AI data center. Yet ChatGPT reached a billion monthly users in May, and about half of US adults now use a chatbot, more than double the 2023 share.

AIDongxi NLP recalls Dan KOE saying in early 2026 that a single day could be used to fix one's life, then admits with three months left before 2027 they have not done that fix. The post is a casual, self-deprecating note rather than an announcement or analysis.

AIJoshua Achiam argues that the trade-off between liberty and security is central to democracy, and that positions at both ends of that spectrum are legitimate. He says people's agency and access to technology are strong, grounded arguments, and that reasonable debate can focus on how much risk society should accept. He is responding to a post calling AI leaders reckless and urging regulators to move beyond data center resistance.

AIPresident Donald Trump announced the creation of a Super Intelligence Force, to be led by National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton, with the goal of keeping the U.S. ahead in super intelligence. The task force must submit a report within 120 days analyzing the risks and opportunities of AI, and its charter includes preparing for societal threats while avoiding overregulation and regulatory capture.

AIDex Horthy argues that in a factory, output quality does not affect future output, but in building a codebase, everything shipped affects the ability to ship and adapt the next thing. The post responds to Kyle Mathews's view that knowledge work resembles an R&D lab or kitchen rather than a factory running one process.

AISwedish bearing maker SKF has used AI to recreate Hollywood star Greta Garbo, who died in 1990, in an advertisement. The AI-generated figure says it returns for one final work, with its image built from text prompts and its voice trained on audio from one of Garbo's early films. SKF said the project was approved by Garbo's estate and family.

AIElon Musk said SpaceXAI, the AI business unit of SpaceX, will be renamed SpaceXSI, and called SpaceX "a superintelligence company." The shift follows the Trump administration's September 22 directive to replace "artificial intelligence" with "Super Intelligence" in federal documents and agencies.

AITypeSafe AI launched Jev on September 15, a model that classifies inputs into preset outputs rather than generating text. Its founder says about 25% of Fortune Global 500 companies use it and daily token volume reached one trillion, with a reported funding round of up to $1 billion under discussion. Similar products have followed from OpenAI, Databricks, Cloudflare and Amazon.

AIOpenAI researchers' daily coding-agent usage, valued at API prices, rose from under $1 in January 2026 to $601 for the median researcher by mid-August. The 90th-percentile researcher reached over $7,000 per day, and both groups show doubling times of roughly one month. Epoch notes these are API-list values, not OpenAI's internal costs.

Why it matters: The figures show internal coding-agent usage growing fast enough to matter for research cost, though they measure API-list value rather than OpenAI's actual spending.

AIBoris Power, OpenAI's account, posted a playful emoji-only message that drew attention to OpenAI's model naming. The quoted post traces the sequence from GPT-1 through GPT-6.1 Sol, including the o-series, Codex suffixes, and the Sol, Terra, and Luna names.

AIJoshua Achiam announces a talk at The Curve in 15 minutes in Eigen, covering the acceleration emergency and a policy agenda for superintelligence's wide-ranging impacts.

AIJoshua Achiam observes that extreme detail in a graphic, once a plausible sign of quality and effort, now reads as an aesthetic marker of AI-generated slop. The post offers no specific tools or examples, only this reversal in how audiences perceive detail.

AIDemis Hassabis says he is proud of Google's work using AI to accelerate science and medicine for society's benefit. The quoted post from Sundar Pichai highlights recent examples, including the open AlphaGenome Atlas mapping 9B possible single-letter genetic changes and the WeatherNext 3 global weather model. It also points to translation services now available in nearly 300 languages.
